A couple of years ago, during the Elite World project, this character was very important to me. She's the mother of Ryoushi and Konoye, which you can find references to in my earlier work. A youkai heralding from the amazon rainforest, she has the ability to pull souls back from the afterlife (using immense energy gathered by her husband).

She is a very strong woman. She cannot fight, she isn't a great healer, she can't use protective magic, and she is not skilled in politics. She has found herself the wife of a very abusive and powerful man, and couldn't protect her sons from him. You might be wondering what then makes her strong. 

She is alive. She faces every day head-on and has for centuries. She has kept her sons alive. She keeps them together, and gives them hope. She refuses to show them her despair. She has not tried to run away with her children, knowing that making an enemy of her husband would be the death of them or destruction of their souls. At the end of each day she is an unsung, unappreciated hero, but she is one nonetheless. 

This is the second entry in the base race over at Glam! The base was by Lazy Kastor, and was very outside of my usual art style. That certainly made this a challenge, as I wanted the entire doll to feel like a single piece of artwork. Any comments on how I could have done better?
